Water Lily

Being in nature has a strong effect on me, working long hours indoors, I start to lose connection with myself. I feel isolated and depleted from fresh air, the blue sky and warm sun. To get in touch with nature one has to go back to the only place where everything is synchronize in a beautiful most eloquent way. To feel the dirt beneath your feet like golden flecks that drift in the air, as every step you make leads you to a path of belonging. There is a lake near my house, and it lies on the center of hills covered in trees. The birds sing and you can hear crickets orchestrating their ballads to the tune of the wind. It truly is the most beautiful thing as a human being to experience. To surround yourself with water, mud, dirt and greenery.

I love the different patterns on the tree.

This inspired me to create a recipe that has natural elements. When we stick to using natural ingredients and a wholesome diet, our radiance shine. We stay more connected to who we really are, and our emotions sing with happiness because we stay in the moment. Happy to feel that connection that we ever so crave.

Each of these ingredients represent dirt, mud, greenery and water that were inspired from my hike. The have healing properties as well as detoxifying the skin from everyday pollutants that we come in contact from daily activities and our surrounding areas.

I loved this post. And you are gorgeous. I like how you began with nature and showed how you bring it into your skin care. I also love that your recipes don’t require huge amounts of product (i.e., 1/2 cup of this, 1/4 cup of that). I see this on so many blogs, and to me it’s silly to suggest mixing huge amounts of product because it will end in waste since you can only use a product like this once or twice a week.

I recently used a charcoal based mask that has a few herbs and six types of seaweed. I’d never used a charcoal masque before and it worked wonders on my skin! I bet yours is fantastic too. I will try it when I return from Brazil later this summer. xxx
