Every morning we wake up with an opportunity to create a beautiful day full of gratitude and to experience what we call life. We have a choice and when we acknowledge the fact that we are solely responsible for our life and the choices we make we begin to better understand ourself and take better care of our body, mind and spirit.
For the past month I have been waking up at 5 to 530 every day. I believe that we can make the most of our mornings to take time for ourselves. When we take the time to be fully present and to experience mornings as they are, we begin to experience life for what it truly is, a beautiful canvas and we as humans are the artist that create our life , peaceful and serene. Every choice we make is a chance to create something magical.
Here are 5 tips to start your mornings. If we can make the most of our mornings we can experience a flow througout our day.
1) Wake up with gratitude
If you live with a roof over your head and a warm cozy bed then you are a lucky person. Waking up and having gratitude for all that you have and are experiencing is a lesson that we all must learn. Every morning we are truly lucky to experience the moment when we are most vulnerable, when dawn is upon us and when there is stillness. Stretch your body and give your self time to fully awaken. Be grateful for another morning, for another day and for the moment that you are in.
2) Move your body
By moving your body you create a beautiful way to express your self. Be it yoga, running, or any type of movement that you enjoy doing. I practice yoga and it allows me to be fully present as I move my body and as I take deep breaths in and release all that no longer serves me. If you even have 10 minutes to spare you can lie on the floor and stretch and move in ways you never though you could. It’s a fun way to get to know your beautiful body.
3) Create a beautiful ritual
As you know I love skin care products and if they have gorgeous ingredients even better. Take a shower or a bath and allow yourself to indulge in oils and butters. Soak your hair in luscious hydrating oils. Spread a mask infused with herbs and Hydrosols .
As you allow the oils to sink in feel free to listen to some music, or even write on your journal, creating your own special ritual that is yours alone.
4) Still your mind
I practice meditation every morning, I cannot tell you how much it has change my life. Many times our minds wander and we are not aware and in the moment to experience our lifes. We are thinking of things that haven’t even happened or worry about things that won’t even happen. If we take the time to enjoy our moments and realize how precious they are, we begin to enjoy our life and all that is really beautiful. We are so amazing to have this awareness and to realize this is such a beautiful gift that has been given to us humans.
5) Take time to get ready and to be more in the moment.
If you are the type of person that rushes to get out in the morning, you didn’t give yourself time to get ready. Allow yourself to get ready by waking up at least an hour earlier if you can. Prepare your clothing and have everything that you need in one spot. I always have my purse in one spot and have my clothes out ready to put on. If you are a coffee drinker, have a glass bottle with water near the coffee pot and your favorite coffee next to it or set your tea out right next to a pot. Make your life easier by preparing. Create your own morning rituals as they are your own.
